Yes. It can be screw-fixed to steel studs or over top-hat battens, which create a drained cavity and help the sheeting sit flat. Use fixings compatible with the cladding's coating to avoid corrosion, and include a thermal break where required.

Steel frames and fibre cement sheet are both non-combustible, which makes them a strong combination for bushfire-prone sites. Your BAL rating sets the full requirements for the wall, including sarking, gaps and openings, so confirm these with your designer.
